Getting Credit

As a U of T student participating in a study abroad opportunity, it is your responsibility to ensure that the courses/ research that you plan to do while overseas will be applicable to your subject POSt and degree requirements. Each faculty has its own regulations regarding the pre-approval of courses and it is important to follow these regulations to ensure that you receive full credit for the courses you take while abroad.

UTM and Faculty of Arts & Science (St. George)

One component of the mandatory Pre-Departure Orientation session for FAS and UTM students is a one-hour session outlining the rules and procedures involved in getting credit for your time abroad. Please ensure that you attend a session which is early enough for you to have time to get your courses pre-approved afterwards.

UTSC

Every year, at least one Pre-Departure Orientation session is held on the UTSC campus. One component of this session is a half-hour session outlining the rules and procedures involved in getting credit for your time abroad. If you are a UTSC student participating in a study abroad program, it is important that you attend this particular session.

Other Faculties

If you are a student in a faculty other than those discussed above, you should consult the "Credit" segment in your particular faculty's section of the Faculty Considerations page of this website.
